Twilio Integration​

ElevenLabs AI assistant is integrated into our Twilio phone system as Option 2 in the IVR menu.

Location: /Users/benpower/VSC/twilio voicemail/voicemail-project/functions/handle-user-input.protected.js

How it works:

  • Caller presses 2 in the IVR menu
  • System dials the ElevenLabs AI agent phone number (AI_PHONE_NUMBER environment variable)
  • Caller speaks with the AI assistant powered by ElevenLabs Conversation API

Configuration:

Future Enhancement: The system is designed to support Twilio's ConversationRelay for direct WebSocket integration, which would provide more control over the AI conversation flow.
